Carbine I  -  AR-15 Rifle Course

This comprehensive 1 day firearms training course introduces the student to the AR-15 / M-4 rifle. During this firearms training course, students will learn about one of the most popular weapon systems that law enforcement agencies across the country are adding to their arsenal. 

Students will become familiarized with the AR-15 / M-4 rifle and will learn the basic gun-handling skills that are necessary to safely operate and maintain this weapon system. Students will also learn about nomenclature, disassembly / reassembly, mechanical operation, care & cleaning, preventive maintenance, zeroing iron sights, shooting positions and much more.

Course Topics:

Introduction to the AR-15 / M-4 rifle.
Nomenclature and weapon maintenance
Mechanical operation of the AR-15 / M-4 rifle.
Disassembly / reassembly.
Function checking the AR-15 / M-4 rifle. 
Loading / unloading the AR-15 / M-4 rifle.
Sling use and carry techniques.
Zeroing iron sights.
Reloading techniques.
Malfunction clearance techniques.
Shooting positions 

Course Length: 8 hours
Course tuition: $ 225.00
Course student limit: 10 




Student requirements: Note pad and pen, firearms training equpiment, eye protection, ear protection, baseball type cap, 
AR-15 or M-4 rifle with iron sights, sling and at least 3 magazines, elbow pads, knee pads and gun cleaning kit. 

Recommended equipment: Rifle magazine carriers, rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellent, hydration system, water and clothing suitable for contact with the ground. 
Ammunition requirements: 750 rounds of 5.56 rifle ammunition  (.22 Cal. Conversion Kits are Allowed for Carbine Courses. If there are any questions please get in contact with PPAT)

Ammunition must be new manufacture (Federal, Remington, Winchester, etc.)

Absolutely no reloaded ammunition! 

NOTE: This course or a firearms training course of equivalent level - is a pre-requisite to attend the advanced rifle course being prepared for 2012.

Carbine II -  AR-15 Rifle Course

This comprehensive 1 day firearms training course takes off running from where Carbine I ended. During this firearms training course, students will take thier rifle skills to the next level with the black rifle. 

Students will work on progressively more complex and high speed marksmanship drills, positional shooting, weapon transitions, one hand loading and clearance drills, use of cover and dismounting from vehicle drills and much more. 

















NOTE: THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO ALL SHOOTERS WHO HAVE SUCCESSFULLY  COMPLETED PPAT CARBINE I.

  • Highspeed Rifle Marksmanship Drills
